June 2021: Forgotten Bees

In June we were joined by Hawk Honey, a naturalist who has studied bees and wasps for several years and is currently based in Suffolk.

He gave us a talk called ‘The Forgotten Bees’.

We learnt about;

1. The various varieties of bees and how they are identified

2. Why they are endangered

3. How their environment has changed over the last few decades

4. How we can help

5. What not to do when ‘trying to help’

It was a very interesting and enjoyable talk that raised a lot of discussion amongst the group.

We then split into breakout rooms for those who wanted to continue the evening with some much needed catching up.
