At this meeting we were joined by Angela of Just So interiors to show us how to restore pieces of furniture which need some love and attention. After our new president, Amy welcomed our new members and reminded us of the upcoming Great Yorkshire Show competitions, we sat down to listen with a homemade cherry biscuit (See recipe). Angela showed us how to prepare furniture for painting with tips on cleaning and sanding. She then demonstrated the transformation of a chair from ordinary to Shabby Chic, with chalk paint and wax. There were a variety of decorative finishes to look at and Angela was on hand to answer any questions. We all left the meeting feeling inspired to get out those paintbrushes and transform our homes!
