November’s meeting saw us each make a beautiful beaded snowflake to display on our Christmas tree. The art of American beadwork was brought to us by Alison Brain who was assisted by Louise.
They had a display of some very intricate and colourful decorations, but as a starting point we were all given a simple pack of coloured beads and a long piece of wire to turn into a snowflake – although it turned out to be a lot less simple than we had expected!
Concentration was definitely required, especially when threading the smaller beads onto the wire, but there were some very proud, and rightly so, people at the end of the night. As one guest said, ‘It’s like Brownies but for adults!’
We had a fantastic turnout of 62 ladies, and this included a lot of new faces.
