Spa Sweethearts at the Great Yorkshire Show 2018

This year’s theme was Home Sweet Home and once again Spa Sweethearts had entries in the produce, craft and flower sections. The craft entries were delivered early to Alma House and were on display to the general public in the WI pavilion. The judging was as harsh as ever but the 3 new home cards were all praised, displaying cross stitch, hand lettering and paper crafting skills. The two crocheted hot water bottle covers were also commended. In the decorated coat hanger section we had 2 entries, a Victorian decoupage and a traditional folk art design, the latter being particularly admired by the judges.  We had 2 entries in the flower arrangement in a tea cup section and both scored highly with 18 and 20 out of 20. In the produce section Laura’s wrascal was praised for its size and appearance and Jayne and Lucy produced 2 gorgeous looking quiches. Sarah represented us in the tent, bravely taking on the 6am shift to make sandwiches for the public attending that day. I hope I have remembered all our efforts, apologies if anyone has been forgotten.
