July was a wonderful, colourful and sociable evening. As always with our July meeting, due to the Yorkshire Show and summer holidays, numbers were lower than usual but that did not stop us having all the fun. This fun was in the form of our Pride Picnic.
We had lots and lots going on; a photography competition, make or bake competition, quizzing, crafting and games! All very colourful of course.
First everyone voted on their favourite make or bake entry (this was done fast so we could start to eat the delightful entries!). The competition was very close and congratulations to our winners listed below

Thanks to all who entered and also thanks to Amy B for providing the gorgeous handmade rosettes!
We then tucked into these yummy treats with a brew whilst working our way through the National WI’s pride quiz. We all agreed we learnt a lot through this (quite difficult) quiz.
There was also a ‘gallery’ set up showcasing the photography competition entries. This competition is still going on with the theme of ‘colours of the rainbow’. You can vote for your winner by ‘liking’ your favourite photograph in this Facebook album. Voting closes on the 31st July.
We then completed our evening by relaxing with some crafting. Felicity taught us all how to create some gorgeous pride themed kusudama flowers, see the pictures for some of our creations.
Thank you to all who attended. We ate, we drank, we chatted, we giggled. An evening that warmed the soul!
